is not found in the world in outside pursuits, But will only be found by looking within,
~ MATA YOGANANDA MAHASAYA DHARMA
Self Realization Sevalight Centre
for Pure Meditation, Healing & Counselling
What people comment on most when arriving at the Centre is the depth of peace and stillness they feel, often as they come up the driveway. Mata Yogananda Mahasaya Dharma has blessed this Centre, and it never ceases to amaze those who come of the profound love they feel when entering the Dharma Meditation room. Guests are welcome to walk through the salal and Oregon grape laden trails lovingly built by the Centre’s dedicated volunteers. As the property backs onto forest, animal visitors such as coyotes, black bears, black-tailed deer and raccoons, and an array of summer birdlife including bald eagles, barred owls and hummingbirds can be seen. On occasion, wildlife has been seen sitting outside the meditation room during quiet and Pure Meditation times, basking in the peace.
Situated on 2 acres, in a small ocean side community on the Sunshine Coast of BC, the Centre is a peaceful retreat for all to reflect, contemplate, recharge and find support and nurturing.
The sitting/dining room upstairs has large windows and offers a lot of natural light and the feeling of being in a treehouse.
Our downstairs sitting room has a wood burning stove and comfortable sofas, perfect for curling up with a book or cup of tea.
The Lavender Room is the clinic space where we see clients for Healing and Counselling.
The Dharma Meditation Room is sacred ground, blessed by the Infinite, and has a proudly peaceful energy. This space is always available for meditation / contemplation and / or reflection.
Bella, the Centre’s cat, lives in the main house and does not enter into the guest accommodation or Dharma Meditation Room. If you are allergic to cats, or have any other allergies, please let us know.
Our volunteers have created a number of small trails through the forest adjacent to the property which are perfect for a contemplative walk. We are also steps away from an extensive network of hiking and mountain biking trails which meander through rain forest laden with tall trees and salal. Maps are available at the Centre. Trout Lake can be accessed via the forest trails, and we are within walking distance to the general store, pier & ocean, Provincial Parks, and beaches nearby in Halfmoon Bay.
“My stay at the SevaLight Centre was a really, deeply wonderful experience and I hope to return for another retreat someday.
The grounds of the Centre are lovely and I went on many meditative walks in the wooded area behind the yard. The forest has several benches, small streams, and many beautiful trees. It’s a safe and private place to walk or spend time in nature.
The main house is a lovely sanctuary, with a wonderful cozy sitting room where a fire was usually going (with Bella, the resident cat, usually lounging in front of it!). The dining room is light and airy, and the meals were nourishing and tasty. The meditation room is a beautiful space, and I joined in the Pure Meditation practice every morning and evening.”
