Aboriginal Community Outreach: Finding Peace and Balance in the Workplace and Home
Noelle Hanuse is of Kwakiutl and Coast Salish ancestry, and she lives and works at the Self Realization Meditation Healing Centre in Halfmoon Bay. She attended the Sechelt Residential School, and through the teachings here at the Centre has learned tools for life to help her make peace with the past and move forward to greater health and personal progress. She has a great desire to share this timeless wisdom and pass on these practical and down-to-earth skills. Noelle also currently works part-time in School District #46 as a counsellor for Aboriginal students at both secondary and elementary schools. She has a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of British Columbia and Master in Education Degree from Simon Fraser University as well as Diplomas in Progressive Counselling, Natural Spiritual Healing, Transformation Hatha Yoga and Relaxation. Noelle also facilitates workshops in Holistic Energy Care, Pure Meditation Foundation, Spiritual Knowledge and Philosophy, Spiritual Parenting and Partnerships and other workshops dealing with health, communication, boundaries, and many more topics.Noelle has facilitated the above workshops, classes, and given Healing treatments and Progressive Counselling in many Aboriginal communities and organizations including Sechelt, Squamish, Sliammon, Nuu-cha-nulth, Spirit of the Children Society in New Westminster, and to the Aboriginal Support Workers in the Vancouver and Campbell River School Districts. Workshops and presentations have also been offered at Vancouver Island University, Douglas College, classrooms in the local school district, Professional Development Days, the Aboriginal Summer Science Camp at UBC, and various churches seeking reconciliation with Aboriginal peoples. She has also taught Kayaking Yoga with Talaysay Tours.Workshops are designed to meet the specific needs of a group and help people better meet the increasing demands of today’s world. The skills learned can help individuals to deal better with anxiety, worry, and stresses of everyday life in the work place and at home. Workshops can be arranged on-site or at our Retreat Centre, and can be shaped to look at specific issues your team faces. Practical tools are taught to help enhance one’s awareness, focus, and concentration, and to help find balance and more peace in life. These valuable tools will last a life time and make living so much easier. Because the focus is on the practical rather than theory, these skills can truly become a deep part of one’s whole outlook on life. As each workshop is individually tailored to meet your specific needs, please feel you can call to discuss the needs of your group.
